Dr. Solomon David is an assistant professor of biological sciences at Nicholls State University who studies fish ecology and conservation. His current research focuses on “ancient fishes” (e.g. gars and bowfins), Great Lakes migratory fishes, and peripheral populations of species. He also communicates science through traditional and social media to raise awareness of the value of aquatic ecosystems and freshwater biodiversity.

Any nature documentary episode on freshwater biodiversity (especially fishes!) There are relatively few of them (episodes) compared to other ecosystems.

Fieldwork on the bayou collecting fishes, or go to the movies.

Family, friends, fishes

Discovering new things about organisms & systems that fascinate me; sharing those discoveries with friends, peers, students.
